In a remarkable display of cross-border collaboration, 14-year-old Indian environmental activist Aarna Wadhawan teamed up with the SOS Children's Village NGO in Bangladesh to deliver an online awareness program on the importance of environmental conservation.


The program, which took place over the weekend, saw Aarna and her team of volunteers from India sharing their knowledge and expertise on issues such as climate change, pollution, and sustainable living with children from the SOS Children's Village in Dhaka.


Aarna's passion for the environment was evident throughout the session as she spoke eloquently about the urgent need for action to protect the planet. She also emphasized the importance of educating young people about environmental issues, saying that they are the key to building a sustainable future.


The children from the SOS Children's Village in Dhaka were clearly inspired by Aarna's words, and many expressed their eagerness to take action to protect the environment in their own communities.   নতুন রুপে আত্মপ্রকাশ করেছে বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু মহাসভা নামে সংখ্যালঘু রাজনৈতিক দল।দলের সভাপতি দীপক চন্দ্র গুপ্ত প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তির মাধ্যমে গণমাধ্যম কে জানান,বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু লীগের নাম পরিবর্তন করে "বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু মহাসভা " নামে কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করবে।  তিনি আরো বলেন,বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু লীগ ধর্মীয় সংখ্যালঘু জনগণের অধিকার আদায়ের লক্ষ্যে বিগত ১৯৮৪ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়ে অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম ও আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের নিদারুন অত্যাচার-নির্যাতন সহ্য করে কাজ করে আসছে। বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু লীগ ১৯৯১, ১৯৯৬ ও ২০০১ সালে এককভাবে জাতীয় নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণ করে আওয়ামীলীগের সভানেত্রী শেখ হাসিনার বিরুদ্ধে সরাসরি প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করে সম্মান জনক ভোট পেয়েও কাকতালীয়ভাবে হেরে যায় এবং আওয়ামী সরকারের রোষানলের কারণে দলটিকে নিবন্ধন বঞ্চিত করা হয়। জুলাই/২৪ এর গণ অভ্যুত্থানে শহীদদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের অংশ হিসাবে এবং গণ দাবীর প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শনের নিমিত্তে বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু লীগের বিশেষ অধিবেশনে হিন্দু লীগের নাম পরিবর্তন করে "বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু মহাসভা" নামকরণের সর্বসম্মত সিদ্ধান্ত গৃহীত হয়। এখন হইতে "বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু ...

  গাজীপুরের কালিয়াকৈরে বড়ইতলী এলাকার বটতলায় মন্দিরে প্রতিমা ভাংচুরের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। গতকাল বুধবার রাতে প্রতিমা ভাংচুর করে মন্দিরের ভেতরে ফেলে রেখে যায় দুর্বৃত্তরা।  স্থানীয়রা জানান, কালিয়াকৈরে বড়ইতলী এলাকায় বটতলাতে বিকেলে পূজা শেষে মন্দিরে তালা মেরে চলে যায় কর্তৃপক্ষ। গত রাতে দুর্বৃত্তরা গেট টপকে মন্দিরে ঢুকে প্রতিমা ভাংচুর করে।  মন্দিরের পুরোহিত সুকুমল চক্রবর্তী জানান, প্রতিমা ভাংচুরের খবর পেয়ে সকালে মন্দিরে যান তিনি। এরপর স্থানীয় প্রশাসন ও পুলিশে খবর দেন। খবর পেয়ে ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেছেন উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা কাউছার আহমেদ ও কালিয়াকৈর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) রিয়াদ মাহমুদ। ওসি রিয়াদ মাহমুদ জানান, ঘটনাটি তদন্ত করছে পুলিশ। তদন্ত শেষে যথাযথ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
